Gregorian Chant Is More Than Music.

Theologians and Exorcists like Fr. Chad Ripperger and Fr. Dan Rehill explain that Gregorian Chant is a powerful spiritual weapon. Unlike modern music that stirs the emotions, Chant bypasses the world's distractions and appeals directly to the Will, ordering the human soul toward God.
Demons hate Gregorian Chant — because of its tendency to create peace, to inspire a lively Faith, and because most of the texts are drawn directly from Sacred Scripture, the Word of God.

Living the Tradition AloudWe try not merely to teach the tradition, but to live it. Carolingia does not invent performance practices; every choice is rooted in authentic medieval manuscripts and treatises, so that it can be accounted for rather than merely felt. Given this album's theme of spiritual warfare, many of the tracks are sung by the men in the traditional "vox virilis" (also called "vox gravis") — a full, grounded voice advocated by saints such as St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Dominic: the voice of the Church Militant, joyfully and unapologetically singing the praises of God.

Christopher Jasper

Founder & Director — Gregorian Chant Academy
Trained under the late Dom Daniel Saulnier at the Abbey of Solesmes and at Le Centre d'études supérieures de la Renaissance (CESR) in Tours, France, Christopher has spent over twenty-five years studying, directing, and performing sacred chant and polyphony. He lived life as a Benedictine monk (postulant) at the Abbey of St. Benedict in Norcia, Italy (2014), founded the Gregorian Chant Academy in January 2021, and established the Carolingia ensemble in January 2026.

Who are the singers?
Our ensemble consists of six experienced male vocalists, and five female vocalists, each with a background in sacred music and Gregorian Chant. All, with the exception of two, are local to Mr Jasper, attend the same parish and sing together in the parish choir. The other two singers - Joshua Carswell and Joe Daly - are known to Mr Jasper through his time spent as a former member of Floriani.
